Sciliar and Alpe di Siusi
The Sciliar -Zone offers you a high variety of summer activities. Walk trough the natural reserve park Sciliar-Catinaccio, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites or enjoy the South-Tyrolean culture, for example the "Törggelen" or the "Almabtrieb".
The 3 villages Fiè, Siusi and Castelrotto form the high-plateau Sciliar. In addition there are many small fractions und a lot of single farms.
Fiè allo Sciliar
The health resort village Fiè is placed in front of the Sciliar on 800 meter above the sea. The community, which has about 3000 inhabitants, is connected very well to the next villages and to the main town, Bolzano. Fiè is famous for his "Kuchenkastl" and for the baroque parish church.
Laghetto di Fiè
The in the 15th century handmade Pont today is one of the most beautiful and clean swimming sea. During the winter he is frozen, which gives you the possibility to skate on the ice. The average water temperature during the summer is 23°.
Presule Castle is one of the most beautiful castle in South Tyrol. Especially the chapel and the large weapon-collection let the castle become to a must-see-attraction. Beside music, culture and theatre Presule Castle is the forth stage of the Oswald-von-Wolkenstein-Ritt, a riding competition where in four stages rider tries to show there knowledge.
The Sciliar with his strange appearance is a well know mountain in South Tyrol. During the summer cows and horses grazeon the top of the mountain. The highest peak is 2564 Meter. Walk to the top in about five hours from our house and enjoy the beautiful panoramic view.
Alpe di Siusi
The Alpe di Siusi is the European highest alp and is surrounded by Sciliar, Lang- and Plattkofel. On the Alpe, which is reachable by car or cableway, you can discover on more then 100km the beautiful nature. During the winter you can go skiing and snowshoe hiking, during the summer running, walking or biking is a often user activity.
The university-city Bolzano is the biggest city in the region and center of South Tyrol. Beside many museums, Bolzano is very famous for his Ötzi, the man from the ice. From Fiè the is every half an hour a direct bus (30 min)
